Drone shows in West Allis
West Allis already throws one of the area’s busiest December weekends, built around City Hall and State Fair Park.
The holiday weekend
On the first Saturday in December the city lights its tree at Centennial Plaza outside City Hall, then runs a lit Christmas parade east along Greenfield Avenue from the State Fair Park entrance at 81st Street. A Christkindlmarkt runs the same weekend at the Farmers Market. A drone show finale after the parade gives the crowd already on the street something to look up at.
Where a show can fly
For July 4 the city uses the West Allis Athletic Complex at Nathan Hale High School, which shows the kind of open, controlled ground a launch area needs.
Airspace
West Allis sits roughly midway between Timmerman and Mitchell, both towered airports. The team checks the launch point and asks air traffic control where needed.
Shows start at 150 drones; see typical budgets in the cost guide or run the show planner for West Allis.
