How much does a drone show cost in Milwaukee?

Most shows are priced by drone count. Public figures put typical pricing at $200 to $300 per drone, so a 150-drone show usually lands somewhere around $30,000 to $45,000. Large shows cost less per drone.

The Milwaukee data point

Milwaukee County’s 2025 July 3 show flew nearly 900 drones over McKinley Beach in three waves, about 45 minutes in all. The Milwaukee Parks Foundation raised more than $200,000 for the event, and the drones and sound alone came to around $141,000. That works out near $157 a drone, which shows how the rate per drone falls at scale.

National figures

A 2024 market analysis by SPH Engineering and Duamentes, covering 1,000 shows, put the average North American show at 218 drones and $52,500, about $233 a drone. Other operators publish $200 to $300 a drone, with minimums around 100 drones.

What moves the price

  • Drone count: the biggest factor.
  • Custom design: a new logo or story takes design time.
  • Number of shows: repeat shows at one site within a few days can lower the rate.
  • Pyrotechnics: drones carrying sparks cost more. Milwaukee County added them in 2026.
  • Site and airspace: tight sites near airports take more planning.
Typical job (illustrative, not a real customer): a village New Year’s Eve show for about 3,000 people. 200 drones, one 12-minute show ending in a countdown, sponsor logos in two scenes. Planning range $40,000 to $60,000, with sponsors covering part of it.

Questions people ask

Why do quotes vary so much?

Drone count drives most of the price. Custom design work, travel, the number of shows and any pyrotechnics change it too.

Is a drone show cheaper than fireworks?

It depends on the show. Milwaukee County said its lakefront drone show cost about $150,000 less than its fireworks had. A small town fireworks display can still cost less than a drone show.

Does a second show cost the same again?

Usually not. Flying two or more shows at the same place within a few days can lower the rate per show.

What is the smallest show?

The team we pass enquiries to starts at 150 drones.
